Right Music for the Wedding

For some reason, the hardest thing to plan in my wedding was the wedding music. You’d think it would be easy enough — hire a D.J., tell him what specific songs we wanted, let him figure out the rest, and done. If only it had been that simple.

First, my fiance really wanted a band. Don’t ask me why; do you know how many times you have to listen to someone’s second cousin’s boyfriend’s roommate and his “band” of fellow fast food employees butcher “The Rose” before your sanity breaks? In my case the answer was fifteen different bands before I put my foot down. Of course, then we had to audition D.J.s, but that’s another story for another time.

I lucked out with my dress, though. My grandmother had the most gorgeous dress packed away. It wasn’t actually a wedding dress; my grand parents had a simple wedding ceremony, with no flashy new dress. However, as they grew more financially stable, Grandmother invested in some lovely clothes, and one dress was a sleeveless, pale pink dress with a lace overlay. It was beautiful, and when I paired it with a wedding veil I found in an antique store, it was perfect.
